Sylvia Ziontz is an innovative artist whose work is surprisingly varied, ranging from expressionism to representational – from strong, bold abstract to the delicate and sensitive painterly pastel portraiture, in which she excels.

Pervasive throughout her art – whether it is deliberate distortion, the figurative or abstract – the viewer is aware of the fine draftsmanship and well composed confidence she expresses. Her works are a mixture of realism and fantasy infused with sensuality, intense vibrant color, and a sometimes mischievous inventiveness.

A lifelong resident of Chicago, Ms. Ziontz’s work currently can be viewed exclusively in the Midwest at Craig Smith Gallery’s two locations --in Harbert at Harbert Tower Place and at the Gordon Beach Inn in Union Pier, Michigan.
